Finalists Announced for the 2018 Social Media Marketing Awards

Social Media Marketing Awards in conjunction with the Social Media Marketing Institute are excited to announce the finalists for the 2018 Social Media Marketing Awards.  

Now in our second year, the focus of the Social Media Marketing Awards is to acknowledge excellence in social media.  It is a chance to highlight the amazing work being created by the talented social media marketers in the industry.

The finalists for the 2018 Social Media Marketing Awards are: 

Social Media Marketer of the Year

This category is to recognise an individual.  

The jury is seeking a social media marketer who has made a significant contribution to the social media industry over the last few years, demonstrating leadership, consistently inspiring and motivating others and portraying the social media industry in a positive light. This person may work in an agency,  a marketing team or any other organisation involved in social media marketing.

Best Emerging Social Media Marketer of the Year

This category is to recognise the emerging talent within the social media industry.   

Entries may come from anyone who is involved in social media marketing and has been in the industry less than 3 years (to qualify, the entrant needs to have first started working in social media marketing after 1st November 2014 ) and in their short time, started to make an impact.

Best Social Media Agency of the Year

This is presented to the agency that has distinguished itself in social media that serves as a example for the entire social media industry.  Agencies who wish to nominate do not need to be exclusively social media focussed.  As long as social media is offered as one of your services, you can enter. The jury will look at the agency's projects and performance over the past year as well as your agency' culture and a testimonial from clients.

Best Small Agency of the Year 

This is presented to the agency with less than 10 employees that has distinguished itself in social media that serves as a showcase for the entire industry.  Agencies who wish to nominate do not need to be exclusively social media focussed.  As long as social media is offered as one of your services, you can enter. The judges look at the agency's projects and performance over the past year, the team culture and a testimonial from a client.

Best Corporate Social Media Team of the Year

This category recognises achievement within an in-house marketing team.  This category is not applicable to agencies.  We want to showcase your best social media campaign and how your team works together.

  • The Australian Ballet 
  • The Sydney Opera House 
  • The University of Melbourne

Best Public Sector Social Media Campaign

This category represents achievement for a social media campaign in the public sector. This category is open to both public sector marketing teams and/or agencies delivering public sector social media campaigns. Joint entries are welcome. 

The finalists are:

  • The University of Melbourne  - "Pursuit"
  • Victoria State Government Department of Education and Training  - "Never Leave Kids in Cars"

Best Social Good Campaign

This category seeks to recognise the best social media campaign carried out for a not-for-profit organisation.  This category is open to both non-for-profit marketing teams and/or agencies delivering non-for-profit social media campaigns. Joint entries are welcome.

 Best Social Media Customer Service

Customer service is one of the best forms of marketing, and social media provides one of the easiest ways for companies to directly interact with their customers. This award recognises that more and more consumers are engaging with brands, companies and organisations and the challenge these brands, companies and organisation are facing to not only answer customers in an effective and timely manner but wow them as well.

Best Use of Facebook

This category seeks to recognise the best social media campaign carried out on the Facebook platform.   

The finalists are:

This category seeks to recognise the best social media campaign carried out on the Instagram platform.

Most Innovative Use of Social Media

This award goes to the company that demonstrates a clear innovative use of social media. Judges will be looking for a company or brand that has gone beyond the norms and broken boundaries in their approach to social media. We are looking for that truly innovative use of social media – either through a campaign, response strategy, integration with other departments, customer support, social media tool or something else.  

 The finalists are:

Best Use of Data Analytics

The correct use of data and analytics is important for delivering effective campaigns, developing strategies to engage audiences, guiding the creation of products and communicating with stakeholders.  This category showcases how data and analytics lead to a desirable business outcome. The jury is looking for in-depth use of data to drive the social media marketing process from the beginning through to a final outcome. Successful entries will show how they communicated the data analytics to clients, employees and stakeholders.

  • The Australian Ballet

The Social Media Marketing Awards Gala dinner is on Thursday, 16th August 2018 at the Rydges World Square in Sydney.  

The Social Media industry will come together to network and celebrate excellence.
